Smaller Keyboard

Under Consideration

Could you add a size specially for iPhone + models, so the keyboard is not using half of the screen but only about a third, as usual?

Thanks Guys

Hi Andy

Thanks for your input. The problem is that the button would change the shape then and were no hexagon anymore. But hexagon is the best shape because it's much more close to a round button. But of course I'll keep the idea open for votes. Just wanted to let you know that we've seen it. :)

Best

Resizing definitely is the mantra of a successful keyboard. This feature helps in customisation of the keys as reaching w and x or y and k becomes more easy if the layout is adjusted as per the user

For rearranging the keys I think this topic is what you're looking for: http://community.wrio-keyboard.com/topic/reorganize-the-keyboard

I'm using Android and sometimes the keyboard is so large that it is difficult to see what I'm typing.

Thanks for you feedback! :)

The keyboard should have the same size like other keyboards. Can you make a screenshot if that's not the case?

Because of the hexagon keys it's not that easy to change the height for example.

Well, I tried but they wouldn't attach. The WRIO takes up about 40% of my screen while the LG only takes up about 25% of the screen. That happens in both landscape and portrait modes.

Hi Scott

Thanks for your effort! If you still have the screenshots it would be great if you could send them to us by email: app@wrio-keyboard.com

Thanks again! :)

Hi Scott

Got them, thanks. What kind of device are you using exactly? Is it a tablet? Looks like this because of the small font.

WRIO Keyboard is not tablet optimized yet, but will be soon.

Thanks for your help! :)

Yes, it is a tablet, LG.

Tablet optimization will be implemented soon and these problems will then be solved. :)

Thanks for your input!

Actually it's not that easy to implement but we'll keep it in mind. Let's see what other users think. Personally I'm not sure about this because hexagon is the optimal key and like this they wouldn't be really hexagons anymore - even tough they look similar. WRIO Keyboard isn't higher than most other keyboards by the way.

But thanks again for your feedback, really appreciated and needed to improve WRIO Keyboard even more. :)

Ok, half of the screen was surely exaggerated.

Nevertheless, see screenshots attached..

Hi Yannick - thanks for the screens. Making it smaller would mean to change the shape of the keys. Our value proposition is that the keys are round because our fingers are round, which improves accuracy a lot on touch screens. Over time Apple has now shrunk a bit the keyboard. We indeed could think of a "shrunk version", especially for power users who are good already. I suggest we first launch the auto correction / prediction bar, as this will improve typing a lot, and will also change the appearance. Happy to take up the discussion again once that is released. I'll keep it open so others can vote. Cheers, David
